
Deb Lasich is currently the Executive Director for Strategic Development at Colorado School of Mines. While at Mines, she has served as the Associate Vice President for Diversity and Inclusion and the Executive Director for the Women in Science, Engineering, and Mathematics Program. Deb’s previous roles include serving as the Director of Academic and Student Affairs at The Women’s College at University of Denver, Registrar at Nebraska Wesleyan University, and Assistant Director at the Office of Scholarships and Financial Aids at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. She has also taught, presented, and consulted in the areas of leadership, professional development, communication styles, and gender issues.
Deb’s National Science Foundation grants have focused on how to improve the retention of women and other underrepresented students in STEM fields and how gender composition shapes engineering design team decision making processes. Her awards include the Mines’ W.M. Keck Faculty and Staff Mentorship Award and the University Change Agent Award from the Women in Engineering ProActive Network (WEPAN). Deb has a Masters of Community and Regional Planning from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and a Bachelor of Science degree from Kearney State College.
